Earlier this year, I had the privilege of meeting the beautiful Miranda for her Trial Wedding Makeup only a short week before the big day was planned; I knew straight away by her chilled attitude that she was going to be a delight to work with and I certainly wasn’t wrong.

Location

The Wedding (which the couple named Blirafest by adapting their two names) was inspired by the laid back, quirky musical festival scene and took place at Hanging Rock Hall a divinely situated property in the Northern NSW Hinterland. The couple started the morning joined by their beloved dog Ziggy and close friends and family for an early morning yoga sesh which was all beautifully captured by their talented photographer Justin Ma. Miranda talks about the moment fondly on her Instagram page @mirandaswellness “Yoga has been a huge part of my life in Brisbane over the last 5.5 years and a big part of my relationship with Blake, so we thought it was only fitting to start our Wedding day with a little yoga sesh with our family and friends, it was perfect.”

All the little things

By the time I arrived to start on Makeup there had been a few scattered showers throughout the morning which no doubt had everyone a little on edge about the pending nuptials which were planned as an outdoors affair, however Miranda’s relaxed and laid-back attitude never faltered whilst we giggled and chatted our way through hair and makeup and eventually her patience was rewarded when the rain clouds parted, and the sun came through just in time for the I do’s.

For her Makeup, Miranda opted for warm brown tones on her eyes which we achieved with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Huda Beauty Dessert Dusk Eyeshadow Palettes. When it came to her perfect pout, we used a neutral matte lipstick from Huda Beauty called Crush and her peachy cheeks were courtesy of the Becca Makeup Chrissy Teigan Palette. The brief for her two ‘bride’s babes’ was to be fairly neutral, so we stuck with lighter shades of browns and champagne for the eyes with soft peachy cheeks and nude lips.

Miranda’s hair was done by Annie at Mikki Auld Hairdressing & finished off with an arrangement of native florals put together by her sister and also bride’s babe Alysia. The gorgeous Bride wore a sleek, slim fitting white gown by Delila Fox with help from Rhian at Babushka Ballerina Fortitude Valley, she wore custom made shoes by Shoes of Prey and her Handmade earrings were by Tinfoil Collective from Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington. The ‘Bride’s babes’ were dressed by Mister Zimi in navy blue with orange and pink floral, one wore the print in a floor length dress and the other a long playsuit and adorned with earrings by Shanice Casey from Junky Comics in West End.

Something borrowed, something blue…

Not to be outdone by his blushing Bride to be, the Dashing Groom Blake held his fashion own in a cheerful sky-blue Paul Costelloe London (David Jones) Jacket, floral collared shirt by Jack London (also David Jones), paired perfectly with a pair of chinos and brown boots for the perfect amount of quirk and vintage charm. His two groomsmen wore matching jackets in a slightly different shade of blue, with white collared shirts, chinos and brown boots.

After the I Do’s

After the vows were said and done the Bride and Groom were joined by their guests in celebrating with a Spit Roast and gorgeous gluten free and vegan cake by Tiffany from BVKED and danced the night away with their DJ Shannon Logan from Jet Black Cat Music.

Overall the day was a gorgeous feast of colour with the perfect amount of mush in the stunning countryside and the photos speak for themselves.
